A majestic farewell to the surface world.

The Sounding captures the iconic moment of a Humpback Whale's dive, its massive fluke rising against the luminous Antarctic sky. Water cascades from the tail in a curtain of droplets, freezing a split-second of power and grace against the timeless backdrop of the Lemaire Channel—a definitive statement piece for Living Rooms and Ocean-Inspired Spaces.

From Lens to Code

The sounding dive of a Humpback is perhaps the most recognizable gesture in the ocean, yet it never loses its power. With The Sounding, I wanted to freeze the curtain of water falling from the flukes—a detail often lost to the naked eye. By guiding the algorithm, I focused on the backlighting that turns water droplets into diamonds and silhouettes the sheer power of the animal as it leaves our world for the deep.
