Source of the Dunes follows a mountain stream flowing through dense forest toward the snow-capped Sangre de Cristo peaks. Rendered with long-exposure smoothness, the water creates a cool, silky path through the dark spruce and fir, offering a pristine and calming visual escape for Bathrooms, Bedrooms, and Wellness Spaces.
From Lens to Code
The Great Sand Dunes exist because of the water that traps the sand against the mountains. With Source of the Dunes, I wanted to visualize this connection—the cool, alpine streams that feed the valley floor. By guiding the algorithm through the logic of a slow shutter speed, I smoothed the water into a continuous line of light, creating a visual path that leads the eye from the dark forest directly to the luminous snow on the peaks.
